Ministries
We have ministries for the whole family. Come be a part of what God is doing at Irving Baptist Fellowship.
MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) We host a group of moms with young children on the 2nd and 4th Thursday evenings of each month. This is a national organization that offers support and hope to ladies and their children. Together they share the joys and frustrations of motherhood and receive guidance from older women with experience that has already raised her family. She is what we would biblically call a “Titus Woman.” The great ideas and fellowship that is shared not only by our chapter but by other chapters across the nation bring great insight into having a God centered home.
ADULTS ON MISSION: Has just completed their spring meetings, will take the summer off and meet again in the Fall. This great fellowship of men and women study missions and then tackle some missions project. One of the on-going projects is collecting small shampoo bottles, small toiletries, wash clothes, soap and bag it up to be handed out to homeless people. We also collect coats, gloves, blankets and warm socks to help our friend John Shelton minister on the streets.
BIBLE STUDY CLASSES: Contribute to different ministries. One class has just sent money to help the folks of Gospel for Asia dig a “Jesus Well” in India for a brand new church. People will come from miles around for the sweet cool water and the Pastor will greet them and share Jesus with them as they wash clothes or fill buckets of clean water for drinking and cooking. Some of the classes help with “Serving Irving” a feeding ministry during Thanksgiving. Year round the church participates with Baptist Benevolent Ministries of Irving (BBMOI) in collecting food to help those who need a helping hand. One of the things you will find at Irving Baptist Fellowship is that small churches can do big ministries–we may be small but our hearts are big.
SUMMER CAMPS: Our camp is Mt. Lebanon Baptist Encampment. Each summer we take boys and girls who have completed grades 1-6 to camp to have fun canoeing, swimming, hiking up to the Zip line, learning about Mission from missionaries who come from all over the world. We are registering now for our Summer Camps. The cost is $150. but we have some scholarships available. Boys and Girls Camp takes place August 4-8. Youth Camp is also available for students who have completed grades 7-12. Interested? Give us a call at 972-313-7742 and leave a message letting us know which camp you would like to attend.
SANCTUARY CHOIR: Our choir is full of folks who sing for the joy of the Lord! From Southern Gospel, to Contemporary, to the good and stable Traditional Hymns our people sing and love to sing them all. Led by our worship leader Sue Solomon and accompanied by Nancy Feaster our choir opens their arms to anyone who wants to sing to the Lord. Practice is Wednesday evenings at 7:30 pm and Sunday morning we meet at 8:45 am to get our voices and hearts prepared to sing. We have a place for you!
SUNDAY EVENINGS: We have Discipleship Study Hour at 5 pm. Currently we are in a study of Revelation called JOURNEY Into The HEAVENLIES. We have a few more weeks of study to go. Come and see how relevant Revelation is to your life today.
